About Us
Where Kapwa Grows is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating culturally rooted opportunities for creativity, reflection, and collective care.
Through groups, workshops, and community gatherings, we invite people to explore, connect, and grow together.
Our Story
Where Kapwa Grows began from a shared desire to create the kinds of spaces we were searching for ourselves — spaces that felt culturally grounded, creative, and rooted in genuine connection. As people shaped by intergenerational migration and mixed cultural identities, we often found ourselves moving between worlds while longing for environments where our experiences and communities felt truly reflected.
We also recognized that many healing and personal growth spaces remain inaccessible or disconnected from the cultural realities of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. These gaps can leave many people navigating healing, identity, and transition without spaces that feel familiar, affirming, or relational.
With this understanding, Where Kapwa Grows was created as a community-centered collective offering creative gatherings, workshops, and shared learning experiences that invite reflection, connection, and growth.
Above all, we hope the spaces we cultivate nurture belonging and shared humanity — where healing unfolds together.
Where Kapwa Grows acknowledges that its home on Turtle Island exists on the ancestral homelands of the Tocobaga people & the indigenous communities who have cared for this land for generations.
