Ericka Black, MA

Co-Founder & Programs Director

Ericka (she/they) is a second-generation Filipina American and queer expressive arts practitioner committed to culturally rooted healing and collective liberation. Her work is grounded in holistic psychology, creative practice, and contemplative traditions, shaped by her experience navigating multiple cultural spaces.

As a mental health professional and PhD student in East-West Psychology, she is passionate about creating spaces where reflection, creativity, and relational care can support personal and communal transformation. She finds joy in Yoga, nature, cooking, and exploring new creative practices.

Gabriel Casas, MBA

Co-Founder & Operations Director

Gabriel (he/him) is a first-generation Colombian American committed to building sustainable systems that support community wellbeing. With over two decades of experience in community mental health and business, his work bridges care and organizational leadership.

At Where Kapwa Grows, Gabriel supports operations and organizational strategy, helping steward the structures that allow the collective’s work to grow and flourish. He enjoys relaxing by the ocean, playing beach volleyball, and exploring new foods as a devoted foodie.

Paco Jam

Paco supports the team by offering cuddles, comic relief, and enthusiastic companionship. His specialties include performing tricks, going on long walks, and chasing neighborhood lizards.
