Peer Support Groups
Support groups at Where Kapwa Grows offer facilitated spaces where individuals can gather in community around shared experiences, questions, or life themes. These groups create opportunities for reflection, connection, and collective care in a supportive and thoughtfully guided environment.
Each group is organized around a particular theme or topic and takes place over a set number of weeks, allowing participants to build trust, continuity, and deeper conversation over time. Groups may incorporate reflective dialogue, creative practices, and structured activities that support shared exploration and understanding.
-
Support groups typically meet for a series of sessions over several weeks.
Sessions may include guided conversation, creative practices, reflective exercises, or prompts that help participants explore the topic of the group together. While each group will have structure and facilitation, there is also space for participants to share experiences, perspectives, and insights with one another.
The intention is to create a space where people can feel witnessed, supported, and connected to others navigating similar questions or life experiences.
-
Group offerings will vary depending on community interest and facilitator availability. Some examples of themes that may be offered include:
• Community reflection spaces
• Expressive arts support groups
• Grief and loss groups
• Groups for therapists or helping professionals
• Identity exploration and life transition groupsNew groups will be announced periodically as offerings are developed.
-
Support groups are open to individuals who are interested in exploring shared experiences in a community setting. Some groups may be open to the general community, while others may be designed for specific populations or lived experiences.
Group descriptions will indicate who the group is intended for so that participants can determine whether it feels like a good fit.
No prior experience with group work or creative practices is required.
-
When a new group is announced, details about the theme, schedule, format, and registration process will be shared through via our website & socials.
Folks interested in closed-groups (groups that do not accept new group members once beginning) will be asked to register in advance so that groups can remain appropriately sized and supportive for everyone involved.
Open-groups (regularly reoccurring groups that allow new members & drop-ins) will also be available.
