Ericka Aquino Black
Ericka is the Founder and Executive Director of Where Kapwa Grows. A lifelong artist with nearly a decade of experience in behavioral health and healing-centered organizations, she holds as master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from the CA Institute of Integral Studies and is currently pursing her PhD in East-West Psychology. Her work integrates creativity, culture, and community to cultivate accessible spaces for healing, reflection, and collective care.

Luis Gabriel Casas
Gabriel is the Operations Director of Where Kapwa Grows and brings more than a decade of experience in community mental health and non-profit management, along with a passion for building organizations that create lasting impact. He holds a doctorate degree in Psychology from Xavierian Pontifical University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, and is a certified financial advisor as well as a PhD student in Business & Finance. His roles include providing leadership in financial stewardship, organizational strategy, and sustainable growth.

Emma Sigurdsson-Jacoway
Emma is an expressive arts therapist and facilitator whose work is grounded in creativity, movement, and connection to nature. She’s a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from the CA Institute of Integral Studies. Her experience includes community mental health, expressive arts program development, and supporting children and families through approaches such as expressive arts-, equine-, skateboarding-, and nature-based therapies.
